Welcome to the August 2021 eMagazine edition of Marine Technology Reporter, a multi-media approach to tapping the world’s largest, audited network serving the subsea community. This edition is dedicated to “Hydrographic,” a core topic which obviously touches all sectors of the subsea community, from offshore energy to subsea defense to science.

I am particularly please to deliver the cover story interview with Scientist Dr. Diana Krawczyk, which examines her team at Greenland’s Institute of Natural Resources research of the waters around Greenland with Teledyne Marine’s SeaBat T50-R extended range multibeam sonar system. Why am I ‘particularly pleased?’ First and foremost, Dr. Krawczyk was a delightful interview, willing and able to share explicit detail and insight on her mission. Second, in my 30 years in publishing, this was my first interview ‘in’ Greenland! Via video, podcast and written word, I think you’ll enjoy the story, which included a number of ups and downs, as well as some interesting finds in the waters around Greenland.
